Hunnacott Farm Nr Barnstaple (20 minutes) on Exmoor is a working beef and sheep farm – third generation of farmers. The Accommodation available is self-catering, short breaks or Bed and Breakfast are available by arrangement. We can also accommodate an accompanying caravan or tents for family and friends if required.
This sympathetically converted single unit, is a self-contained centrally heated wing of a listed barn conversion, external wooden feature panels have been fitted to blend in with its’ rural surroundings, situated on the foothills of Exmoor, two miles from the village of Bratton Fleming.
Experience the atmosphere of rural life where the seasons dominate, a perfect antidote for today's stress.
Relax on the lawns and gaze at the landscape or watch the house martins swoop and listen to the birdsong. Spot a soaring buzzard.
From the edge of the garden or a 3 minute stroll down the lane listen to the mesmeric sounds of water in the brook below, one of nature’s timeless healers.
There are extensive scenic views of patchwork fields and wooded valleys, dotted with traditional farms, sheep and cattle seasonally grazing in the fields.
Accommodation
Groundfloor:
The accommodation consists of a spacious sitting/dining room, with two settees, a large T.V., stereo unit, pine table and chairs, which has the added benefit of a wood-burner stove with wood provided for guests use; this room enjoys stunning views over Exmoor.
The kitchen area has an electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and a good range of cupboards and worktops.
Upstairs:
There are two bedrooms, one double bedroom with cot if needed; the other bedroom has bunk beds and a single bed. Z beds are available for use in the sitting room for additional bed space. There is a tiled bathroom with a bath, w.c. and washbasin.
All upstairs rooms are light and airy with tastefully fitted velux roof windows, installed to comply with planning requirements of listed barns on Exmoor; both bedrooms have additional conventional windows with lovely views of Exmoor.
Included in the prices; are all linen, towels (except beach towels), Central Heating, Electric, Wood (for the wood-burner).

What to do:
Walk across the fields and footpaths, through the copses. A short drive will take you to open moorland with its own scents, sounds and sights. The sweet honey scent of heather in August. Red deer and steep wooded combes.
Sample Devon’s famed quality food. There are farm shops selling their own and local produce. Visit the Farmers’ markets in the local villages. Barnstaple has it’s own renowned Pannier market and Butcher’s Row – selling local meat and fish caught off the North Devon Coast
There are attractions and amenities to suit all tastes and ages, both open air and wet weather, including Exmoor Zoological Park just a short distance away.
Within easy reach there are many beaches. Surfing at Croyde, sandcastles at Woolacombe and many more. Children’s attractions include Watermouth Castle. The Big Sheep, Once-upon-a-Time and The Milky Way etc.
There are Gardens at Marwood Hill Gardens, 20 minutes away in Barnstaple.
R.H.S. Rosemoor Garden is 50 minutes away in Great Torrington.
Arts Galleries are in Bideford and Great Torrington with Theatres in Barnstaple, Ilfracombe with a number of Cinemas in the area.
Coarse fishing at Wistland pound is 6 miles away. There is riding available on the moor. For the keen golfer there are local Golf Courses at Barnstaple, Great Torrington, Holsworthy etc.
For the cycling enthusiast, children or the lesser able, there is safe cycling on the Tarka trail, 33 miles from Braunton to Meeth mainly off road cycling. For the walker there are plenty of Public Footpaths, plus 180 miles of walking along the Tarka Trail.
