QuickDial Setup Guide - Windows NT 4

The following instructions describe how to create a new dial-up connection to QuickDial.
  • Double click on "My Computer" and then "Dial-Up Networking" icon within the window that opens up
  • Click "New" on the "Dial-Up Networking" screen
  • Type in 'QuickDial' as the entry name for your phonebook
  • Type in 0845 123 2424 into the "Phone number" box and leave "Use Telephony dialing properties" unchecked.
  • Click "Configure" and uncheck Enable modem compression, click "OK".
  • Click the "Server" tab and select "PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet".
  • Check "TCP/IP" and uncheck "IPX/SPX compatible" and "NetBEUI".
  • Check "Enable software compression" and "Enable PPP LCP extensions".
  • Click "OK"
  • Click "Dial"
  • Type in your username (e.g. barnsdesigns) and your password (e.g. quickdial), leave the domain field empty and check Save password. Click "OK".
To use your new QuickDial Internet connection double click on "My Computer" and then "Dial-Up Networking" and select "QuickDial" from the "Phonebook entry to dial" drop down.
